Group Visits

We are always pleased to talk to people about the Millennium Green and to show them round the site.

As part of our Environmental Stewardship Agreement we have an Educational Access Option, supported by the Rural Payment Agency, which enables us to offer tours of the site and educational activities for adults and children without charge. These can take place during the day or in the evening and usually last about two hours.

For Adults
If your group would like to visit the Millennium Green we can offer a tour of the site with one or more of the Trustees who will explain how we manage the Green and showing you the features of interest such as the wildflower grassland and the archaeology (part of the site is a Scheduled Ancient Monument).

Tours can be tailored to your specific interests. All we ask in return is that your tour organiser completes a short form about your visit
. Under the Access Agreement we will then receive a payment which will help towards the running costs of the site. For those requiring refreshments there are two pubs serving food close by. We have our own 'Inkberrow Millennium Green'  leaflet and a 'Farm Facts'  leaflet published by Natural England which give some details of the site.
These can be found in the Documents section above.

There is also a regularly updated Site Risk Assessment:
For Children
We are able to offer environmental activities for schools and other children's groups e.g. brownies or cubs. For schools we cover topics such as life cycles, plants and habitats at Key Stages 1 and 2.  Activities include pond-dipping and bug hunting, simple plant identification and exploring a small copse. At present we work with Inkberrow Primary School and would welcome other local schools. We would also be happy to develop programmes for Middle and Secondary schools in relation to environmental topics, biology and geography. For non-school groups we run educational fun activities and some older children take part in surveys such assessing pond quality.

A Teacher's Education Pack is available on line

Activities for schools
The following documents give an example of a Year activity (in this case, Year 3) with Inkberrow Primary School. The material is designed to dovetail into the curriculum at the point it is being covered in school. If you would like to bring a school group please contact Inkberrow Millennium Green Trust on [email protected].
