Inkberrow Primary School
2025
Once again the Trust was pleased to host 7 visits from Inkberrow Primary School. These were well supported by volunteers from the Trust and the Teachers and T.A.'s from the School. Good feedback was received. The weather was favourable - with some days being warm. Only one day had to be postponed because of a wet forecast.
The very dry spring and early summer meant that the level of the Pond in Field 2 was low, but as only three classes out of 7 carry out pond dipping, we just about 'got away with it'.
Thanks again to all concerned from the School and the Trust. The picture below shows the 2025 Year 2 group, by the pond and in the grassland (some children's faces have been deliberately obscured) - note the dry conditions and low water level.

2024 Visits were planned for all 7 classes of the Inkberrow Primary School, as part of their Science Curriculum, and took place between 21 May and 2 July, and were supported by Millennium Green Trust volunteers. Feedback from the School was good (though not fully received back until the autumn term). A successful claim was submitted to the Rural Payments Agency in October. The Year 2 group found what was later verified on iNaturalist to be a Great Crested Newt - leading to an necessary application to handle this species from Natural England, which was granted. 2023 Visits by Inkberrow Primary School 7 visits were carried out in June and July 2023. Trustees and volunteers enjoyed welcoming IPS staff and children to do their nature and science studies in our outdoor setting. It is a joy to see the children learning and having fun in the fresh air - even if the weather for some of the 2023 visits was rather cool! 2022 Visits by Reception and Years 1 to 6 Trustees were pleased to welcome all seven year groups to the Green in the spring and summer of 2022, together with their teachers / TA's. The pictures below show Pond 2 prepared for children to do pond dipping, and adult volunteers and school staff supporting the children's investigations into the pond habitat.
